He IS one of us...

He hailed a cab as usual, to go to work. He was never ever late for work regardless that he was just an administrative assistant clerk. He delivers his given tasks, however simple they were; with great sense of responsibility and sincerity. His fellow collegues were very fond of him; be it the managing director or the tea lady. They would often do something nice for him, however tiny the gesture was just to let him know, he IS one of us...
Although not owning any tranpostation of his own, it was never a problem for him to visit anywhere he wished; malls, cinemas, libraries, bookstores, beaches, gatherings, pubs (where he would be excitedly cheering along any soccer team that were competing for that particular night) and he never missed going to his local chruch on Sundays. It was the same in church. A true devotee, he would even taped each sermon preached by the Pastor or Reverend during that particular week. After service(s), he would gladly join the others for lunch before heading back to the church for choir practices, band practices in which he plays the keyboard. One would easily tell that he would pass as a mediocre member but hey, no one ever complained or looked down on his so-called 'mediocre' abilities. The other members who excelled in either 'field(s)' would willingly guide him whenever neccesary. After practice(s), he would stay back to help clean up and then spend another couple of hours learning to play the piano. He was totally dedicated in everything that he sets his heart to and always gave his best. His earned the respect of his fellow peers and friends with utmost justification. After all, he IS one of us...
We could all learn a thing or two from him; being such a dedicated, hardworking and righteous person that he was, it certainly proved that Anything Is Possible when you set your heart to it. His family, relatives, friends loved him simply because he is who he is. He is as much capable as the person next to him because he IS one of us..........not because of the fact that he was born, handicapped. Oh, did I mentioned that he was blind?
