My First ever 'attempted' Poem...

Thought I would share this with all of you...

I had to make a 'toast/speech' during the event of my little brother's wedding dinner which took place in December 2007. Was not at all afraid of 'public speaking' but was more concerned about what in the world I would want to say, so that it would not embarrass the newlyweds and my parents plus, giving friends and relatives alike; a wee 'insight' of the entire account from their courtship which subsequently led to the wedding. Talk about pressure especially these kind(s) ie; mushy, fluffy stuffs...*shudders*. So I decided on reading them a poem thus, leading me to attempt my first ever self-written poem (which I miraculously wrote within 10 minutes while sitting on my toilet bowl! hahaha!)...

Okay, on with the poem and it reads a little something like this:


Dearest Mr. & Mrs. Wayne n’ Sabrina Lim,

THE DAY WHEN YOU FIRST BOTH MET,
NEITHER THOUGHT ONE DAY YOU’LL WED,

AS TIME PASSES BY,
YOU BOTH CLEARLY KNOW WHY,

THO’ AT TIMES YOU FIGHT AND YELL,
SOMEHOW IT ALWAYS ENDED BEING ALL GOOD AND WELL,

TIL’ THIS VERY DAY,I’M PROUD AND HONOURED TO SAY,MY LIL’ BROTHER’S FINALLY FOUND A LOVELY WIFE, DAUGHTER AND SISTER-IN-LAW,
ONE GREAT GAL THAT WE’D ALL HAPPILY RELATE TO WITHOUT CAUSING AN UPROAR,

WISHING THE BOTH OF YOU TRUE HAPINESS,
ALONG WITH SINCERE LOVE AND TENDERNESS,

SO, CONGRATULATIONS TO MY DEAREST NEWLYWEDS,
HERE’S TO STAYING TOGETHER FOREVER AT YOUR VERY LOVING BEST!

*blushes*...please let me know what you think?...oh and by the way, my sister-in-law loved it. She had it enlarged, framed and its now proudly hanged on their bedroom wall. Hahaha, so much for a 10-minute bathroom 'vibe'...Nah, I am 'relieved' and thankful that they liked it...trust me ; )
